Arch POA

1. learn to install arch linux with and without archinstall
2. go through the recommended steps on the arch wiki, and apply them accordingly when it makes sense.
3. fully configure the system:
   • create a custom terminal startup design
   • customize the taskbar
   • fix any installation issues like driver issues etc
4. it needs to be “daily drivable”, which means:
   • I need to be able to use git, vscode, obsidian, zen browser, postman, Node.js, Discord, teams and steam.
5. it needs to be secure for my use case (I will do this on my school laptop):
   • have read through the security wiki and applied things that apply to me.
6. I need to have learned how to compile my own apps, since this will happen more often than not (so I have heard online)

Learning outcomes:

• I want to know how to setup arch
• I want to know how the linux boot process works
• I want to be able to troubleshoot issues
• I want to know how the pacman package manager works
• I want to know how the choices I make will effect my system, I want to understand the things I am doing.
• I want to know how to setup dual boot.

Leerdoel

Aan welke competentie(s) wil je werken?	Ik wil Arch Linux leren te gebruiken, en het systeem leren begrijpen tot het niveau dat ik het kan troubleshooten.
Formuleer je leerdoel (SMART)	Ik leer Arch Linux te installeren (met en zonder archinstall), volgens de General recommendations te configureren, het systeem volledig daily-drivable te maken (git, VS Code, Obsidian, Zen Browser, Postman, Node.js, Discord, Teams, Steam), security-aanbevelingen toe te passen die op mijn schoollaptop van toepassing zijn, eigen apps te compileren, en dual boot op te zetten. Ik kan dit aantoonbaar uitvoeren en documenteren.
Waarom kies je voor dit leerdoel?	Het is heel nuttig om te begrijpen hoe low-level systemen werken en dit kan mij veel inzicht geven bij mijn baan. Ook is het fijn om alles aan te kunnen passen aan je systeem.

Leeractiviteit

Wat wil je gaan doen? (welke activiteit)	- Arch Linux installatie oefenen met en zonder archinstall. - De General recommendations doorlopen en toepassen waar zinvol. - Het systeem volledig configureren (terminal-startup design, taakbalk, drivers/bugs fixen). - Daily-drivable maken met git, VS Code, Obsidian, Zen Browser, Postman, Node.js, Discord, Teams en Steam. - Security-wiki doornemen en toepassen wat voor mijn schoollaptop geldt. - Leren en oefenen met eigen apps compileren. - Dual boot opzetten. - Youtube gebruiken als ik tegen dingen aan loop.
Hoe gaat deze activiteit jou helpen om je leerdoel te berijken?	Door installatie, configuratie, beveiliging en software-setup praktisch uit te voeren, leer ik Arch-setup, het bootproces, troubleshooting, pacman-gebruik, de impact van mijn keuzes en dual boot in de praktijk.
Hoeveel uren denk je er aan te gaan besteden?	35 uur.
Van wanneer tot wanneer ga je deze activiteit uitvoeren?	vanaf nu (februari) tot halverwege periode 4.
