Terraria copper liquid glitch

In Terraria liquids can merge into blocks. If you put water on honey, it becomes a honey block. If you put water on lava, it becomes Obsidian. This makes sense. But what actually is happening is that the lava turns into Obsidian, whilst the water vanishes. This is a logical way to code this. But this can be exploited. Obsidian cannot be formed if there are certain non-solid blocks in it, like torches and coins.

This means that if you place a coin stack, and place lava on top of it, and then break a block above it which makes it come into contact with the other liquid, the water will vanish without turning the lava into Obsidian. This makes it so that your water will slowly evaporate. But it becomes more powerful, If you do this and re-log the world, the water will be instantly removed, so this becomes a really effective way to drain lava pools and oceans.

Lava will delete all other liquids on contact, lava itself isn’t as enthusiastic to be deleted, but rejoining the world will still remove it. Lava is only delete-able with honey or shimmer.
