Root is multiple things.

• A root user is a user with privileges over the computer.
• A root location is the lowest folder of the system, typically / or C:
• A root can also be the part of the tree / plant that absorbs the water from the ground.
• Rooting something typically means getting root user privileges and changing the Operating system via your new permissions.
• Someones roots is the place of origin / birth.

I was installing Arch Linux and mentioned root in the Avans 2.x POA Arch Linux. And realized that there are quite a few definitions of root.
