Timing & Requirements
- When: Year 3, Periods 1 & 2
- Prerequisite: All propedeutics (Year 1) learning units must be completed
Structure (4 days work + 1 day school)
- 4 days at company working on real projects
- 1 fixed day at school for guidance and specialization classes
- Total: ~32 hours per week (4 × 8 hours)
Company Requirements
Must be an ICT company that:
- Develops/maintains/implements (embedded) software
- Has professional ICT infrastructure
- Employs qualified ICT professionals (HBO level+)
- Provides daily supervision
- Allows your chosen specialization to be practiced
- Offers 4 days/week flexibility for school schedule
Two Learning Outcomes (LU)
LU1 - Orientation (Oriënteren)
- Systematically learn the professional ICT practice
- Observe and analyze the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Contribute to active projects
- Define your professional identity through reflection
LU2 - Research (Onderzoek)
- Conduct research on a real organizational challenge
- Create a prototype, proof-of-concept, or MVP
- Provide improvement recommendations using critical thinking
Assessment
- Portfolio + presentation for both learning outcomes
- No standard portfolio format—you collect evidence during internship
- Specialization-specific criteria for LU2

- AI Systems Engineering - AI components in software
- Cybersecurity - Security-by-design approach
- Realtime Data Systems Engineering - IoT and embedded systems
