Whatsapp doesn’t make money with common things like Advertisements, it has promised that it will never add those. Instead it makes it’s money by making companies buy access to a company account, so that users can use Whatsapp for their services. Like, in some countries you are able to book tickets etc by messaging the company on Whatsapp.
