Chapter 1
Oh, I see, you expect this to be a Marvel fanfiction. Well… that would be lame. No, there are no Marvel Superheroes here. The only thing super before I got my powers was… well, me, because I am awesome, duh.
Okay, so let me introduce myself. I am Jack, but some people call me Florida Man. Just kidding, nobody calls me that. At least, I hope not? Imagine the headlines: “Florida Man Saves Day, Again!” Cringe.
Anyways, let me tell you my tragical backstory. So, there I was, minding my own business, trying to find a decent taco place at 3 AM because, well, who doesn’t crave tacos in the middle of the night? The night was hot, and the air was thick with that familiar scent of impending trouble, or maybe it was just the Florida humidity.
That’s when I stumbled upon this shady-looking alley. You know, the kind that screams, “bad decisions are made here.” But my taco cravings were stronger than my survival instincts, so I ventured in. And there it was, glowing faintly behind a dumpster, a piece of… something. It looked like a cross between a glowing rock and a techno gadget from one of those old sci-fi movies.
I should have run. I should have turned around and found a taco truck like a sane person. But no, curiosity killed the cat, or in this case, zapped Jack. I reached out to touch it, and wham! Next thing I know, I’m waking up in my apartment, with my cat Mr. Whiskers staring at me like I’d grown a second head.
And that’s how I became… well, something more than awesome. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The powers didn’t kick in right away. At first, I thought I just had a really weird dream. That is, until I accidentally levitated my coffee mug the next morning. Mr. Whiskers was not impressed.
So yeah, radioactive item yadda yadda, you already know the drill. It’s like basically any other boring hero story, except it’s mine. And trust me, it’s about to get a whole lot weirder.
